I am 17 years old and I attend Edward A. Reynolds West Side High school where I am currently a senior. I am graduating June 26, 2009 and will be attending college in the fall. I seen the film "Trouble the water". I seen alot of water and elderly people. People were watching themselves die slowly. The lady Kim held up strong throughout the entire tragedy being that her mom was taken away from her at age thirteen and then to loose more family members in the hurricane. Larry was brave. Families were trapped in thier homes for hours. The hurricane made people bond more. Everyone was helpful and friendly towards one another. I realized that some people returned back to New Orleans, mostly whites and most African Americans relocated. I think the people were helpless and had alot of patience.

The government let the victims of hurrican Katrina down also because they took a long time to send help so the people could have been rescued. The survivors were very strong. While watching the movie, a lot of thoughts were going through my head. I felt sorry for the people who had no help at all and for those who survived, but was homeless. Those who knew how to swim I feel had an advantage over the people who couldn't. I liked the way the man Scott went about talking to people for help, but I actually felt his pain when they got turned down. I was happy to see that the victims could restart from the beginning and live their lives again. I know that people who survived is doing okay now but they'll never forget what happened.
